The problem is that no matter what I click on, the "Add" button at the lower right never lights up. The left side has the hierarchy, and and the right pane displays what's in the folder selected on the left. After I click on "Add backup" a window opens with two panes. OK, so your second suggestion was to add an existing backup. (I have to say, I'm becoming disappointed in this program.) Yet Acronis tells me that over 650 MB was backed up! Opened Acronis, went to Backups, selected the Recovery tab and it's still telling me that there's no data to recover yet.
After the Validation completed (successfully), I rebooted the whole computer just to be sure everything is fresh.
